Now the point of controversy with this book that jonnyhacker and other eluded to is that Mitnick didn't write it on his own. He paid a bunch of people in and outside of the scene 200 bucks for their stories which he then used in the book, making more than a few grand. I think the profits should have been shared a bit more, like everyone gets a percent instead of the 200 bucks up front. Of course it's doubtful that any of the contributers were going to write or profit in anyway off their old SE stories, so maybe Kevin just provided a forum for people to be recognized. Also he wasn't holding a gun to anyones head.
