Sending that old lady a rotary phone in the name of the PLA is a great idea!  If my old rotary phones weren't in storage, I would definitely send her one.

I'm on Ebay now, trying to bid on some old Western Electric rotary phones.  Not having much luck, though.  I keep getting outbid.  I've tried up to $17.00.  There's a few junk shops in town that I've seen rotary phones in.  Maybe I'll check those out soon and see if they're reasonably priced.  I doubt they will be, though.

I have her docs

I know this is an old thread but since it is alive again, is anyone really surprised by this?
Old people are stupid. Old people and technology don't mix. Every phone company will try to rape you.

I can agree with this. Like trev mentioned about wi-fi scanning, it's not unusual to see wireless access points without computers OR a modem connected; old people will just buy a wireless router and plug it in. My parents did the same thing before I had to remind them that it had to be connected to something other than the electrical outlet to work. My grandma paid for long distance for a dial-in number for Internet for a while, even though the ISP had numbers in our area. They knew she would pay for it and continued doing it until I called.

Moral of the story: Old people are stubborn, but gullible. Actually, they're more just gullible.

It's not so much they're gullible, they're just old and therefore luddites. Think about when they were our age and what was the top technology back then. And everyone knows this. Scammers, corporations, and salesmen. I dread the day when I reach this state, but we will all reach it one day, even trev and Greed

The odd person escapes and remains mentally limber in their old age, like Captain Crunch or RBCP.

I plan on being shot down by FBI agents before I get that old. Thanks for the encouragement, though.
