RF meter?

Any suggestions as to where one could find a good UHF meter? One designed for close range use, as in, capable of showing different signal strength within a 20' radius or so.

Yeah, sorry for not being clear enough. This area's still new to me.

I just meant something able to show the strength of RF waves in the UHF band within close proximity.
Like, for example, if a cell phone was in use 10' away the meter/detector could show the waves strength increasing (?) as the meter was brought closer and closer to the cell phone. Also, it needs to be able to work even if the RF waves are only present briefly.

If this doesn't even make sense plz point me in the right direction or feel free to school my n00b ass.


And if it finds ghosts that's also a plus.

airodump shows you how close you are to any broadcasting AP's.. I think you would have more fun with other readers like a cosmic ray detectors, geiger counters, metal detectors etc.. UHF IS now part of the cellular spectrum thanks to AT&T buying a large part of it.  I thought for sure Goooooogle was going to snag that shit.

Thanks for the link but AeroDump is designed for sniffing WiFi 802.11 packets. I was asking about a physical device that can be taken around to different places, and that is specifically made to show the varying strengths of signals like those given off by cell phones.

Plus I don't have a laptop so AD still wouldn't work.
