I used to do that same prank. Then my dad got a job.

and another thing to do is call a confused old person, record them talking to you, then call them back and have them  talk to themselves

My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.!

Back when Skype was still free I used to use Yahoo's white pages to look up guys with the name Harold Sack and conference them together. I could never get them to stay on the line long enough to figure out what they all had in common though. Kind of sad really.

I used to do that - pick names that were similar or the same, then conference them together.  I had a 2-line phone, so I would use my line and my parents line to dial them at the exact same time.  I'd also hook up Chinese restaurants together and listen to them rant at each other in Chinese.  Or I'd hook up competing businesses, rival BBSers, kids from my school.  Kids from my school were the best - I'd pick 2 people that would never normally talk to each other.  Sometimes they would skip the whole, "You called me.  No, you called ME!" and would just talk to each other.  I wonder if I created any lasting friendships that way.

I love the idea of calling an old person and making them talk to their self.  I really need to try that.

When I was younger, my friend and I would go through the phone book to find funny names to prank call. The best one was this old guy whose name was listed in the phone book as E. Fudd. Needless to say, he received several Elmer Fudd related phone calls every day until he changed his number.

i like the time when you called about the Lionel/Montel trains.  You should do more with that character against more classified ads as well.
