I only tried it with BBS900 and I made a total of $80 with them during the first month.  The next month I called them and asked them why I hadn't received my check for $1,000 yet and they told me that the phone company had been calling them all month, trying to figure out how people were calling their 900 number from pay phones all over Albany.  I didn't have a good answer for them and I never got any more money from them.  I never tried it again after that.

It's too bad you can't call 900 numbers from cell phones.  It'd be easy to dial 900 numbers then.  I bet the 900 number industry is a lot less profitable these days, with everyone using cell phones as their only phone.

I just Googled "Why can't I call 900 numbers from my cell phone?" and found out that in Europe and Asia, you can.  I also found that Comcast home phone service doesn't allow 900 number calls either.  What bullshit.  I want some goddamned phone sex!

I bet it'd be more profitable to pursue those text messaging pay services instead of 900 numbers.  I bet they offer affiliate programs on those too.

Wow that's two dead scam threads of mine spontaneously rising from the grave! I read in 2600 a while back that SMS short codes are the new 900, it seems that way given all the stupid shit I see them used for advertised on TV. Every teenager has a cell phone now, I imagine you could make loads of money with a little overhead before the industry gets regulated in a few years.
