*UPDATE* Youtube bug - freetube HD support / clientless

Proof of concept :

You no longer need to use any clients to download videos, it all works from the browser
VLC must be installed to playback HD content.

Note : downthemall for firefox will really improve download speeds (A must for big files like those)

thats so strange how it uploads the whole file and converts the whole thing to flv before actually telling you it's too long... something is fishy about that.  very cool though, wget for windows r0cks when your in a jam, and "smart focus" in camtasia studio is ass. but, i'd like to try that video grabber, i just wouldnt give the damn thing my credentials first

Yup. I find it more odd that its not physically deleted tbh  heh.

Yes, I've already wrote that up on my site.. I actually strongly recommend to use a new account to upload the > 10min files since theres still serious security problems with the cookies, I really don't know enough PHP to figure how to securely send the cookies over to the freetube client without leaving any obvious traces.

So far I've set the PHP script to delete any used cookies after a few seconds so it gives freetube enough time to read the cookie from my server to send to youtube to grab the "deleted" video... It's a mess but it works. I am now laughing and it's out loud because what was said previously is so funny.

On a related note, MySpace doesn't purge images for months. 6 months at least. Upload image, copy image location, delete image.

I had another account TOSed for using an animated image of Bud Dwyer's suicide as my default image. They deleted the account but the image, which I linked to in a blog entry (No, I don't learn.  ) explaining why my other account was TOSed, worked for about 6 months.

Ameritech.net never seems to purge their users web space.

The account was canceled about 6 months after the last modified date which, by the way, was 10 freaking years ago!@#$ If there was an account attached to that username, you'd see a page which looks like this instead of a directory listing of the files I uploaded 10 freaking years ago!@#$
