Linksys USB Network Adaptor with Wi-Fi Finder
« on: August 12, 2006, 02:43:28 PM »
I recently bought one of these nify little devices that, when charged,(VIA USB port) will tell you the SSID's and security status of wireless networks in the immediate area, without being plugged into a computer.  (So you can find networks configured by Newbs before you turn on your laptop/computer to commence the leeching.)  It also doubles as a USB 2.0 802.11G network adaptor when plugged in.  Anyone else here ever use one of these devices, and if so, what were your experiences that you encountered while using it?  I've had mine for a day, and I guess because I don't get out much I have found it to be rather exciting to walk around with a self-powered USB network card/WiFi finder and giggle as it finds my neighbor's secured and unsecured networks.  Here's a link to the product page for it. Or if for some reason the link dies, just Google WUSBF54G.
