Huh, I agree with most of this. Not the "stealing identities of dead babies" part. That's my favorite hobby! But I've never really been impressed with anything I've read about Kevin Mitnick. It seems like pretty much anybody on Phone Losers could do what he did, just he managed to somehow get famous because of it.
No, Kevin Mitnick can't launch missles via a telephone.

It is true that any of the hacks "Condor" did we could have done.
The reason why he was important is because, well, they virtually had no real laws back then for what he did. Even today, in the bustling age of Wi-Fi and iPods, our government is completely clueless and the only tech the truly know how to regulate is farm equipment.
Oh it will get better as society goes forward, it's just going to be very very slow watching the old farts die.
Then nanotech will come out and since like our fore fathers we did not lay down the laws at the time of conceptual it's back to square one.
