Fry A Cell Phone

I have a Nextel Blackberry that's a first class piece of shit I use at work.  I can upgrade only when this one dies.  Douching it water isn't an option.  Is there any other way to fry the damn thing electrically so it doesn't work?

Put it in the microwave (without the battery) for about 5 seconds.  It should leave the outside of the phone intact while still making it never work again.

Just do a firmware upgrade and pop the battery out halfway.

I used this to get 3 new different phones from Sprint. They check it but they will give you a new one anyway. Since Sprint/nextel are the same thing I assume they will be the same in this way
