If you guys ever finish this, i intend to funnel it onto my spare computer (or heck, maybe even my main computer if i can get over my crippling fear of partition editors...I accidentally killed my spare's XP installation with a partition editor and had to wipe it and install SuSE. since then, i haven't dare touch gParted.)

well if it's built on Ubuntu, it's pretty failsafe and will work around your existing partitions.
