I found a website that shows payphones in all of the United States and Canada. It was pretty fun to just try some random numbers in the directory. payphone-directory.org

a lot of those numbers have been disconnected, those listings are outdated

There are probably some that are outdated but i called a few in Massachusetts and they worked fine. I called mostly hotel payphones so maybe you should try hotels. :-\
