At least you didn't blow a bunch of money on CB radios and toasters.

Anyone who did is just plain stupid. I MEAN C'MON, A CRYSTAL IN A TOASTER!? SINCE WHEN ARE TOASTERS NOT JUST A HEATING ELEMENT, A SWITCH, AND A RESISTOR-CAPACITOR TIMING CIRCUIT!?

Guess not too many people have actually taken apart a toaster and read The Art of Electronics.

Have you not seen some of the toasters nowadays? Mine has button select for toast, bagels, and waffles, each with an LED light. I bet that thing has some form of microprocessor or something inside it.
Not to mention BSD. http://www.embeddedarm.com/software/arm-netbsd-toaster.php

Best. Toaster. Ever.

Install USB ports and drivers for common wi-fi extensions and you have a machine that cooks delicious bagels and sniffs packets. Perfect for the hungry hacker.
