handscanning via magicjack?
« on: May 07, 2010, 05:43:36 PM »
i've been looking into getting magicjack - mostly so i can use a handscanning app i've written that dials via modem through magicjack...

i just wondered if anyone else has done this before and whether or not there were any issues..

finally - i realize that i would likely be unable to make a connection to a modem via a magicjack call, but i was wondering if at least a carrier could be detected over the line?

anyway.. been away for a long time and though i'd stop by.

umm... i thought hand scanning meant just that... dialing the number BY HAND and listening to the line... your program must be a war dialer (or one of the many other names given to this type of software) since it automates the process...

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to put the magic jack in your usb port and then run the phone line straight from the magic jack into the modem.
I HATE the bridge.
