Messing with some Nigerian scammers
« on: August 07, 2010, 06:44:13 PM »
Over the past couple of days I've been messing with some Nigerian scammers on an email baiting account, and it's gotten to the point where they want to know my phone number address etc. So I was thinking at this point of giving them some phone numbers, and these wouldn't be my own phone numbers of course I was going to give them the phone numbers of marks(targets)  who have screwed me over as double payback in order to both waste the scammers time and to get back at a mark.

Would this plan of action cause me any trouble any forms of legal or other trouble. This is one of the reasons I decided to wait on giving out any addresses.

Therefore, I would appropriate any serious(NON-TROLLING) opinions on this issue.

If you're baiting them, why don't you want to set up a Google Voice number that will actually reach you?  Doesn't seem like very effective revenge on someone, just making them receive a couple phone calls from a foreign guy they'll probably barely understand.

i always tell them to meet me in times square with $10,000 in cash and then we can continue the conversation.. i tell them since i will be getting so many millions, that they should be able to come up with airfare, and hotel expenses for the trip, that they can then take from my cut....

for some reason none of them respond back to me after this - unless it is just like an automated response where you can tell they did not read my initial demands for cash up front....

In some cases though both in the US, but mainly in the UK and South Africa professional scambaiters have met face to face for 419 men in order to further waste their time or even arrange a sting with the police. On Youtube you can find To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen actually engaging and meeting 419 ring members and confronting them about their activates along the same lines as in his most well known show. If you didn't know about that already do a search for it. It's even more hilarious then To Catch a Predator
