Phone Mobbing
« on: November 16, 2010, 12:54:11 AM »
Curious as to how you guys were able to continuously spam these radio stations,
did you particulary target the statiatons that didn't put you on hold before you went to air? Plus the delay in alot of the ones in my area means (10 second delay) we are often cut off.
What tips can you guys give, as I'm considering organising one with some friends for a latenight programme, I know they can trace our numbers and I'm hoping theirs a way of preventing this as from what I heard they (the stations you pranked) supposedly did the same thing.
Do you avoid stations that put you on hold, because you give your name before you go on air, surely the phone board manager caught on. Haha,
thanks for your time all.  :)

Most radio stations ask you what you're calling about and put you on hold before you're put on the air.  If you know anything about the show you're calling it's easy to tell them something they want to hear at that stage, and then do your own thing once you're put on the air.

The "What's Your Bid" mob didn't have any screening and there was a really small delay.  Like maybe just a couple of seconds of delay.  We've had our best luck with AM stations that don't do any screening and aren't used to calls like ours.

Lately we've gone even lower than AM radio and have started mobbing the internet radio shows at blogtalkradio.com, which is the easiest thing ever.  The only problem with them is that they're not professionals and rarely take our mobs as seriously.

The station I want to call does have delay, but I know they can trace my number. What can I do to stop this? Or is it just worth copping.
