At some point in the past year we came up with the craaaazy idea of leaving notes on cars, claiming that we'd accidentally hit their car and asking them to call us. Last night on TPS I requested that people actually start doing this for me since I don't want to do it here in town. Here's the first call I got, courtesy of Darkstranger who stuck a note on some guy's car this morning:
http://www.phonelosers.org/media/ding/ding_gerald.mp3I think we can have a lot of fun with this! That's why YOU should leave notes on cars for me. The notes should read something like this: "Sorry I dinged your car. Please call me and we'll work out insurance stuff. 814-FOUR TWO TWO-5309 -Roy" Don't spell out 422, obviously. I'm just hoping to avoid being Googled by the people who will call. Make up a few notes and stick them on cars the next time you're out. Use the name Roy since that's what I've put on the voice mailbox. Any last name you want. And don't get caught!
If simply writing that you hit their car is too boring for you, then be creative with your notes. Write completely insane things on them if you want. Also, if it doesn't seem too risky, snap a picture of the note on a car. Might be nice to get a small collection of pictures like that to put on the web page that I'll eventually make for this. And if you're in Oregon, it's probably best that you don't leave notes on cars. I figure I should leave this area alone since I'm the one doing the calls. Not that I think this is illegal, but I still don't want cops figuring out it's me and telling me to cut it out.
Post any ideas you have for what to say to these people. I want to tell someone that I had their car towed to a shop to get repaired, then towed it back. And that I took money out of their change holder (pfelon's idea) to help pay for the tow truck or maybe that I siphoned gas from their tank to pay for it. And that the car I hit them with was stolen so I wasn't sure if they had insurance. Maybe I could say the damage only occurred on MY car and I expect their insurance to pay for it because they were parked so stupidly.
Go leave notes! I want to build up a giant list of people that I need to call back about their cars! I'd like to give Carlito some of the numbers to call since I'm sure he'd do something hilarious with them.
Oh, also, Gerald's dad just now called and left me a message to call him back. So there's gonna be a sequel to this Gerald call. Tee hee!
