Sorry, but that was funny. Reminded me of a few years back when my then girlfriend was moving into a new secure gated community apartment complex. They had given her a passcode when she signed the lease but it wasn't in the system when I went to move her in. I'm driving, so I'm by the gate and she's getting all upset and "what are we going to do?!?" I said, "Let me try something" ... four zeros ... and the gate opened. She was impressed and I got special nookie that night.
Anything that comes into regular contact with varying members of the general public will have default passcodes and backdoors of all different sizes. It's just a fact of life because 90-95% of the general public are complete morons when it comes to any kind of technology or security so *something* has to be built in to protect people from themselves. What was the saying "Locks are only for the honest" or "Locks only keep honest people honest" Sorta like "good fences make good neighbors" I guess.
Further note. We later found out that this "secure community" had another gate that let out to a side road that was *ALWAYS* kept open for garbage pickup. Yay for security!
