I used to have a pretty large collection of national Time & Temperature phone numbers.  Back in the day, I used to call them often, thinking it was cool to hear the time & temps from small towns all over the place, some with weird southern accents and stupid advertisements played beforehand.  Here's a small list.

These numbers are useful for practical jokes.

-If a telemarketer calls, tell them you are house sitting at the number they called. Tell them you are interested in their product and have them call you back later at your house. Give them one of these numbers

-At the store I work at you can call an outside line then transfer it to an extension. I wonder if the people in customer service wants to know what time it is in Boston, MA?

-Don't forget about 3-way calling. Your mark will wonder why a time/ temperature number is calling him.
