The country of PLA!

http://www.buysealand.com/
Micro-nations are the shit!!!111!!
I believe I read some where that people are free to take over abandon offshore rigs and what not by the laws of sea salvage. I think RBCP should take over one of these things (make sure it's in international waters!), and then he do whatever the fuck he wants. Post Mel Gibson's phone number, worko on all sorts of nefarious things, break copyright law, the laws of the world don't apply to him! Your kids will love that lovely rusted thing, too, especially the .50 cals (the guns, not half a Cal) you'll need to protect yourself from the inenvietable attack by the US.
It would be great!

The Pirate Bay was planning on doing this a while back, but Sealand is actually within Britain's boundaries so it was a no-go.

Yeah, I've only got $40,000 to burn right now.  Maybe I could talk them down a little.

On December 6, 2005, The Times claimed that the British government and courts had finally admitted that Sealand "is outside British national territory [...] and not part of the United Kingdom"; however The Times did not elaborate and there has been no confirmation by other sources.

A sum of between £65,000,000 and £504,000,000 (US$ 998 Million, €750,000,000) is set as the price for the new tenant(s).
You would have to be a mighty good barginer to get that down to $40,000. I don't think even Marlon Brando could get them to sell for 40 grand.
That's also why PirateBay gave up. There going to buy an island instead.

Who wants a trashy oil rig anyway, Tropical Island's kick more ass, besides the fact that the only way to land is on a 72 hour rowboat trip..

I thought they decided on moving the servers to a place like the Czech Republic or further east?

Not that I know of. They have two islands they're considering, one's in Panama, but I forget where the other one is. There's a whole site dedicated to selling and renting private islands.

I had no idea there was that much money to be made by running a bittorrent tracker.

Every tracker I know of is always whining about needing donations and ad revenue just to pay their webhosting fees.

I thought that you could just take it? Who needs 400,000 if it's open for the taking? I mean, don't get me wrong here, if there are laws that say that we can just take abandoned boats, then I think that We should take one, then Phonelosers.org would definatly one up Cals forum. Then commith the snuff porn (in international waters of course)

Well, the pirate bay didn't whine for donations, people just like to give there money away to a worthwhile cause (unlike cancer research or starving children in etheryopia)

PLA can't have an Island Country without a Pirate mascot. Gentleman, double click your photoshop icons.
