One of the things my call center does is handle paging for some elevator repair service and we can recieve calls from phones in the elevator, but I have yet to discover which ones. Soon as I'm fired I plan to social engineer the info out of my former boss, and it will be awesome.

woah, I can hear it, i'm listening right now, can they hear me??? I have my line muted just in case. I like the ring before it picks up, I couldn't seem to call it from my house phone. it just was silent. Calling from VoIP lets me on, I can hear people getting on the elevator, it  beeped and they are gone

OMG, Either there is a businessman with a laptop in there, or a maintenance man, I can hear it going all over the place, and little bits of keyboard work.

I'm probably going to regret this.

1-800-634-6753

That's the number for the Riviera hotel and casino in Las Vegas. During Defcon, someone figured out that you could access the phones in the elevators. They work in a kind of speaker phone setup, where you dial in and can talk and listen. You are also able to tell if the car is moving or not and the number of people in the car (little beeps let you know).

There are.....seven? six elevators? Well I forget the exact number, but a safe area to stay inside is in between 37 and 41. So when you call that number and it picks up, dial #9037 if you wanted to access car number 37. i.e. #9041 for car 41. It will transfer you around a little while, so have patience. You will also hear a really crazy beeping noise, like a retarded person dialing as many numbers as possible, then you are connected.

As I remember, this phones aren't really loud, but loud enough for you to hear. Yelling would be a good idea.

Have fun. Goddamn I hate the Riviera.

I don't want to deflate you, but I do want to point something out while also using screenshots I made last night testing my GLdesktop apps.

There was a time when we didn't have a search function and we either had to manually search for something or just check the Google cache. Don't take our struggles for granted.

Yeah, because it really sucks to be able to customize every aspect of your computing experience. Can you maintain multiple workspaces at the same time? Did your operating system come with a full list of open source applications that are either completely compatible with or that function better than commercial applications? Was your operating system free for life, including community support?

Didn't think so.

By the way, I do also use Windows, but Windows doesn't give me the option of on-screen annotation, transparent screens, or 3d rendered window management effects.
