That binary watch is weird. How does it tell you if it's am or pm?

In theory you would look outside and notice the light from the sun or lack of. But ya... I'm not going to start with that irony.

why do you even need a watch that can withstand the vast pressures of space?

What pressure is there in space?

Pressure in space is like 10-20torr or a molecule per cubic centimeter. I work with vacuum chambers that pump to 10-7torr in about an hour. The cryopumps used are at about 9-16 degrees Kelvin (9-16 degrees above absolute zero). EVEN IF I had this watch and accidentally left it in a vacuum chamber, it would only withstand the pressure. The plasma, ion, ebeam, heaters etc. of any vacuum system would ruin it. I doubt anyone would ever need this unless they were going into space or needed a tiny penis extension.

Good question, I don't think it does. So buy the Casio  ;D

Do you really need a watch to tell you this?  The sun's a pretty good clue... ;)

If you're in-doors with no windows then it's useful.

Then you go outdoors.....

Come on now, seriously you don't really need it in everyday situations.

What if your in a place where sun is only out for half the year. It you don't become extremely depressed and kill yourself it would be useful to have a watch with you.

Even if you're in a completely darkened room all day, you know if it's AM/PM.  The clue is that you're asleep for about 8 hours a day.  You know when you wake up.  AM/PM is useful for setting watch alarms, though.

I wore a watch for about 15 years straight, starting in 3rd grade.  But now it just seems pointless.  My cell phone, which is always with me, has a clock on it.  So does my Ipod and my Pocket PC.  My car has a clock in it.  Every single room in my house has at least one clock in it.  I'm in front of a computer for most of the day, which has a clock on it.  I'm surrounded by clocks so why would I wear a watch, other than as a fashion accessory.  I usually dress like a bum, so not having a watch is the least of my fashion worries.

Anyone here read Gizmodo?  I've been a subscriber for 6 months now and they are obsessed with weird watches.  There's some pretty crazy ones that they review.  Here's a link to them all:

I'm having a fun time replacing the word "clock" with "cock"

That binary watch is weird. How does it tell you if it's am or pm?

It's a 12-hour format watch, to tell the time you add the numbers in the top row to get the hour and add the numbers in the bottom row to get the minutes.  There is no am or pm, just look outside. =p

the time is 10:20 in this picture.

Wouldn't the time be 10:22 in the picture?

On one hand I don't like adding to old threads being brought up again, but on the other hand I've found a really cool watch.
