Space watches.
« on: March 13, 2007, 06:35:10 PM »
There has been some talk of watches on PLA lately.
Go out and find the nicest (not necessarily most expensive watch and write about  it here.
I like the space watches a lot, but they are really expensive.

why do you even need a watch that can withstand the vast pressures of space?  Most space watches are analog 24 hr, and here is the nicest one on ebay.

the Omega comapny has made high grade time instruments for astronauts since they started the space program. The Omega Speedmaster Professional has been used on several manned space flights.

...and here is the most expensive watch PERIOD on ebay

(note: none of these have USB!!! I am getting more value for 0.0051% of the cost! :)  )

anyone have "Starting bid:   US $1,000,000.00  ?"

PWNED!

It's not about pressure either. It's not like they're wearing the watch over there space suit. It's more about liftoff and landings and dockings and stuff like that.

I don't wear watches anymore after I noticed my tendency to lose them easily, which would anger people, since they would usually be gift watches, making people think I just didn't like it.

I personally think a watch is probably the second best accessory a guy could choose to wear (first is a necklace with a black cord).  Ever since Michael J. Fox wore that big, thick black digital watch on TV it's driven me crazy.  :-*

Just food for thought.

The longest I ever wore a watch for was 4 months. It was a pretty cool looking Timex too, but then I decided I didn't care what time it was, put it away and promptly forgot where I put it.

... put it away and promptly forgot where I put it.

I tend to either do just that, or (in one case) I unclipped it in my sleep, it fell off my wrist, and by the time I thought to check my room (I was in the process of moving out, so it took a couple weeks) it was gone, which really confuses me and makes me wonder if my dad stole it after I moved out.

That binary watch is weird. How does it tell you if it's am or pm?
