Effects are actually pretty cheap to do yourself these days..

Adobe Aftereffects can do a lot of shit, and Sony Vegas is pretty powerful for DIY video editing

Just a matter of putting the time in to learn the programs

That one effect they keep using in the video is a pretty common trick with Aftereffects I believe.. Involves using a still photo to create a moving video

I see.  I've only seen that used on TV and the setups they used were multiple cameras surrounding the objects.  I remember it being used a lot 10 years ago, like in the Guilty Conscience video and a couple of commercials and the Howard Stern intro.  I thought they'd need at least a couple of cameras to pan around a 3-D object like that.  I should spend more time playing with Vegas.

I use Vegas a lot for basic editing, but I haven't tried any effects in it yet. I've been meaning to get into Aftereffects, since that is probably the most widely used program right now for video effects, but that stuff takes a lot of concentrated work for a while
