Good ol' scammers trying to get you to press 9
« on: April 19, 2007, 04:07:07 PM »
It is funny how I keep getting scammers telling me to press '9' on my phone. As well, it is quite agitating. However, to my surprise, one of the scammers appeared on my caller ID today, and now I am getting a chuckle over how the number I dialed back gives the same spiel and then goes to a full mailbox.

Here's the number: (407) 965-0600

Nova Scotia thinks it is a scam: http://www.trurodaily.com/index.cfm?sid=20771&sc=68

I attached an audio recording of what is said when they call. Anyone care to have some fun here?

Yeah. I seem to breathe a lot into this.

Pressing '9' on a lot of phone exchange systems allows one to access an outline line, which in turn allows these scammers to dial some expensive phone numbers. However, they keep calling homes, and it does nothing to press '9' on your phone regardless of what the media says.

@darrglud

Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours.
