thanks for the donation!! we just got it today, and i have been trying desperately to find is god damned IP address!!
i have hooked it right up to the macbook and tried using ettercap (scanned 65535 hostnames) ethereal, etherape, tcpdump, netstat, nmap ping scan.. i gives the MacBook an IP but, even with ethereal if i start the scan on eth0 and unplug the routers power cable and plug it back in it cathes a bunch of padded ARP packets, and such, it ARPS a wierd ass address that doesnt exsist (gratuitous ARP) and gives the mac its IP without showing its own. I have tried the browser and guessed With previous knowledge i have with the damn Fon router, that router gives the MacBook the same IP 169.254.x.x but the Fons web interface was 169.254.255.1 this is not the case. apparently after tons of googling all night, i found that VINA went out of business 5 minutes after this router was released. Theres no documentation on it anywhere, not even on previous models, and - theres no web interface, you need to configure it via telnet.
so, thanks for the cool project mate we really appreciate it, this is a ton of fun (like a puzzle) I've got friends that work for DSL ISP's and have requested advice on the router. I'll keep you posted on what we come up with. - trev.
