I was stupid for thinking the supervisor wouldn't have a problem with it.  I asked her today and she litterally screamed at me.  She doesn't want me to tell you guys anything what-so-ever about our operating procedures.  I don't really see the harm with posting an employee guide up, but I don't want to get in trouble.  If anyone here is curious about cingular feel free to PM me.

Did you seriously ask your manager.....

If so then wow. I'm speechless.

I don't understand why everybody feels that an employee handbook is so serious.

Do you know what social engineering is?  With an employee handbook, it would make it that much easier for SE'ers to trick employees out of information.

I hope you didn't get into any trouble over this.  Thanks for the effort, though!  It's too bad you couldn't have recorded her reaction today.  I bet it was really comical.

No, I didn't get into any formal trouble.  From what google tells me it is:

is the gaining of privileged information about a computer system by an unauthorized person masquerading as a legitimate user. The high-tech version of the old "confidence game."

Keith, if you email me the manual, I will not let anybody here see it. In return I will tell them that you are not a Cingular tool or fed. It's a win-win ;)

I really need to know what info it has because I want to be in Cingular customer service. But not as one of those guys who work in the mall booths who are harassing everybody that walks by. I drop shit on them from the second floor.

BTW, RBCP is a Lvl. 26 SE'r and he doesn't even need the manual so don't worry about him. He might have actually written it (check on that for us).

I would still have to get the .pdf verision.  I only have a hard copy.  If anybody wants to know something specifically feel free to PM me.

BTW:  My real name is Lawrence, not keith.  I know my name confuses everyone.

Did you tell your supervisor which web site you wanted to give the manual to?  If so, your supervisor could end up visiting this site and might see that you're offering to give anyone who asks proprietary information about Cingular.  Which could be really bad since you seem to have your real name as your user name.  I'd hate to see you get fired over this.  Let me know if you want me to remove this post or at least change your name to something else.  But if you're comfortable with all this, then so am I.

You don't find a pdf version, you make one.
Or go into Staples and have them do it for you.

There's gotta be like a million Kevins working for cingular. Just say it was another Kevin in the unlikely event that a phone company employee finds out about this site. It's not like search engines cache it anyways.

I didn't give the site name out.  I don't really think you can do much with an employee handbook, Cingular has some pretty strict security policies...

BTW:  RBCP, is this your site?  I know your admin on the forums, but is this whole site yours?  I havn't really looked at anything else yet, but there are some really interesting forum topics.

You should listen to this episode of PLA Radio.  You'll see how much Cingular's security policies don't work and never have.  Seeing an employee handbook could make social engineering even easier for some people.  Simple things like knowing the format of a CUID, knowing whether an account is in Clarify or Telligence, if you're on the blue or orange side, what market an account is in, etc. makes things a whole lot easier.

Yep, it's all mine.  Welcome to the site, I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I don't understand why everybody feels that an employee handbook is so serious.

Well, does the document say things on it like "for internal use only"?
