Grand Central: The next Skype (kinda sorta)

I dont know how many of you know about this service, but it\'s been around for a while and I haven\'t seen any topics about it.

Anyways, there\'s a free phone number service known as grand central. You sign up for a number from anywhere in the country and then can pick a phone number that you want your grand central number to forward to. You can have up to six numbers to forward to per account. The cool thing is, you can also call from these numbers and it connects to the person via your grand central number (your CID will show up as the grand central number). You can even make a free call from your PC if you have gizmo http://www.gizmoproject.com/ you just foreward your gizmo number to the account. It also has free ringshare as well.

To call someone they have to be pre-programmed into your contacts. Then under contacts there will be a call option.

Right now, it\'s in Beta and that\'s why it\'s free. The devs have said they will still offer a free service once they make it past beta, but I dont know how many features will cut out.

Please note: I\'ve only tried making calls from my computer. I\'m not certain that your Caller ID is replaced if you make the call from a phone, I\'ll test that out later.

Get it here: http://www.grandcentral.com/

also, please dont spread this around too much or tell the developers what a great job they did or they may end up speeding up release and it will no longer be free. If anything give them a huge list of improvements they should make so they never make it \"un-free\"
