Unlimited cell phone calls
« on: June 01, 2007, 06:33:03 AM »
hey guys I love phone phreaking and I have been using this hack for a little while and I thought I would share it with you. So this hack works with sprint, alltel, and T-mobile. What you do is you get what ever carrier you have they all offer this feature where you can call one number for free(example sprint is sprint to home, tmobile is my favs). So you get that with that feature and then you get http://www.voicestick.com you tell sprint that your home number is your voicestick number. Then you go to http://www.voicestick.com you input your cell number into their bridge software on their site. So now every time you call from your cell phone to your voicestick number it gives you a dial tone. So sprint thinks you are calling home so that it is free but in reality you can call who ever you want.

Yeah, one could just set up a free asterisk did and have it dial out with some prepaid voip carrier or you can have it set to use one that's free. I think GreatCalling was one if I remember correctly. Though it might be down now due to the AT&T lawsuits.

i know that this isn't exactly the same but you can get a skype phone that works on wi-fi so that whenever you are in range of a wi-fi network youe can make free calls to other skype users I presume you have to pay for calls to landline/mobiles.it is also completely useless without wi-fi but i heard that the u.s government wahted to create more widespread wireless networks not much use in the u.k. but hey
heres a link to the skype phone \/

yea you still have to pay for http://www.voicestick.com but it is a lot cheaper than buying a unlimited plan than some of these cell providers.

I've thought about this a lot, too.  Here are my ideas:

- Set up an asterisk box (make sure it has chan_celliax installed, for Skype)
- Purchase unlimited US SkypeOut ($30/year)
- Purchase an unlimited local DID from les.net for $3.99/month, or if your faves list isn't limited to just your area code, sign up for an ipkall number (free)
- Set up asterisk so when you call your DID, it lets you enter in a PIN and a phone number and dials out via Skype

A bit of work for (almost) free calls...
