Vandals break my interwebs

Comcast Vandal--  Comcast phone service customers between Kelso and Castle Rock were without 911 service for some time yesterday, after cable company workers discovered that a fiber optic cable in North Kelso had been vandalized. Around 5:30 pm, Comcast workers called the Sheriff's Office, reporting that a portion of cable had been stolen in the 2400 block of North Pacific Avenue, near Rocky Point. It's unclear how many customers were affected by the incident, though the company did provide an estimate of 50 to 60 customers, stretching north go the Bond Road area. Other emergency service providers were alerted while repair services got under way. No suspects have been identified.

I'm all for messing around in Fiber Optic nodes, but please avoid MINE!

Ouch, that's not cool.
But somebody's probably pretty happy that they got all that booty from Comcast.

Up here in Pierce County, this is happening.

and I don' like it. (I know the people that it's happening to.)

I actually think it was an example of a news article (though that made me laugh too, since by the second paragraph I'd noted that much of what they'd reported was totally impossible and at any rate didn't involve any crazy computer hacking). It was really funny, they hadn't even caught him when they published that book, one of these days I'll have to make a recon mission to my old school to steal a copy.
