"Kurt Cobain was the only guy who ever got it right. Can you imagine how much he'd suck today if he were still alive?" - RBCP
This just got me thinking. I seem to be thinking a lot, and not sleeping, but it's over 100 degrees in my room (which is fucked up, cuz it's like 70 outside). If all the dead rockers were still alive and making music, would we even want to listen to them?
I have this sinking feeling that Kurt Cobain would be on an acoustic guitar playing concerts with Billy Idol (who is alive, btw) and Art Alexis (who apparently faked his death?) at casinos to draw in the young crowd.
Janis Joplin would have went all conformist or ended up doing mass amounts of product placement (as opposed to blow or heroin)
The dead guy from Smashing Pumpkins, Kobain (again) and Dimebag would be hosting a show on MTV.
Tupoc, strangely enough, would probably stop making CDs if he was alive, which doesn't really make sense to me.
and I'm pretty sure Jim Morrison and Jerry Garcia would have become ministers, Mr. T and Chuck Norris style.
When you think about it that way, I'm glad so many icons and stars were cut down in the prime of their life. Many more, however, should have been, including (but certainly not limited to):
Ozzy Osbourne
Yngvie Malmsteen
Art Alexis
Robert Smith
Billy Idol
David Hasselhoff
... ? I can't think of any more artists that would have been so much better if they would have just died before they peaked. Any ideas?
