Voip wardialer?
« on: July 18, 2007, 12:28:44 PM »
Is there a script or some other automated way of wardialing with voip?

a wardialer that supports IAX for use with Asterisk:
http://www.softwink.com/iwar/

Since this dialer supports IAX, it can register as a phone to Asterisk
or any voip service that
supports IAX protocol...  like teliax or even FreeWorldDialup for just
scanning 8's, etc...

Won't work with skype, unless passed through some sort of IAX to skype
gateway... I wish skype would get their act together and support SIP
or IAX... ugh.

voip-info.org had a link to this dialer posted about 2 years ago..
Could be good for locating local test numbers if
one were willing to sit around monitoring (by ear) it's progress I
guess.

I read a little bit about iwar before I started this thread and it sounds interesting, but for a newb to linux it might be too much to grasp. I ended up manually calling the numbers I wanted to scan, but I just found this http://sourceforge.net/projects/skypediver/ although I am getting an error when I try to run it. It's apparently a Skype wardialer.
