out of all the boxes that were not telco related, i'd have to say that the chrome box was the best. How else you susposed to get through traffic when a telco truck is chasing your car?

On a more serious note, the chrome box sounds like it'd be complicated to implement effectively (ie working all the time undetectably). Has anybody ever seen one in operation? Is the infrared system still in place, and if so does anybody have a list of the cities it is used in?

I'm assuming you're talking about the traffic control devices.

I don't see them much at all. When I do, they are in small cities and usually only for their major intersections.

yea there still around, not to mention at night i see emergency vehicles blasting the strobe at intersections when their lights are red, then *poof* they're green. there used to be an old radio shack strobe light you could buy that used to work on the old lights. but i'm not sure about the new led lights. that's the thing i guess, noone ever really update those old textfiles about the boxes. i remember jason used to have a extension on tell-me explaining what the boxes name & definitions were. but then tell-me took down the extensions.

I've thought about mounting like five of those million candle watt lights on the hood of a car and flashing people with those. I'm afraid they might crash into me though. That, and I don't drive. Ever.
