Baud rates.

I have a uniden 780xlt and i use butel software for pc control.
This is really crazy but the only way the software can detect the 780 is if the baud rate is 4800 bps for the scanner and set at 9600 bps for the software.

I have a bcd996 and also use butel for pc control and the baud ratees have to be set the same or it wont detect the scanner.
Its set at 9600 for both.

Why would the 780 be different?

It was a royal pain in the ass to figure out wtf was up with the 780 and to get it to work and i'm really curious why it would be this way.

Everyone i know is drawing a blank, maybe one of you douche bags can figure it out.

I work at Uniden. We did that on purpose because at the time that scanner was released our tech support line was a 900 number and we got $1.99 per minute. Or maybe not
