Kicked down my door

So a few days ago, I was locked out of my house. Normally this wouldn't be so bad, except my secret key wasn't in its secret hiding spot. I went down to my basement door in hopes that it would be unlocked but to no avail. I then though to myself how BA it would be if I did what I was about to do. I then pulled back my foot and kicked in the door. It broke the lock and the wood frame on the door split and busted open. It was totally cool, except now I have to buy a new door frame, and I also realize how easy it is for thieves with big feet.

And a new lock. If your back up key wasn't in the hiding place, there's a chance someone found the key for a possible burglary. Or they took the key to a make a copy and is going to return the original.

You never know.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I broke down my own door last year.  I stepped outside to take out the trash and shut the door so the cat wouldn't run out, locking it out of habit.  I was barefoot and it was freezing out.  So I threw my shoulder against the door 3 times until it broke open.  Steel door, but the wooden frame split apart easily.  It made me think, "Shit, anyone could do that."

I think home security is pretty hopeless now.  Altalp has made me realize that all locks are futile.  There's really not anything you can do to keep people from breaking in.  Unless I want to buy an attack dog or something.  Which I don't.

Yeah a couple years ago I was mowing my lawn and some guy just walked around the back and broke the door with one push. I saw and asked what the fuck he was doing and he said that he'd seen somebody going in and that the other guy was still inside (pretty good idea actually, I'll have to remember that one).

Anyway I called the cops but he got away, though my nextdoor neighbor who is a physically handicapped veteran jumped into his truck and chased him down the block which was pretty sweet.

I wish Canada had Texas' breaking and entering laws, I bet that'd let the cops get back to solving all these pesky murders that our incredible gun laws haven't managed to stop.

Picking locks is fun, but unless you're a bored hax0r/secret agent/industrial espionage guy, and in fact a crackhead/b&e enthusiast, you're more likely just to shove the damn thing til it breaks.

Yeah i kinda had the cops called on me one time for trying to get into my own house.  My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.

I locked myself out of my house when I was a kid once so I broke a basement window and climbed in.  Then I found a nice sized rock and set it on the floor in the basement so it would look like some hooligan threw a rock through our window.  It worked!
