Whats the best version of linux??

I've heard of a lot of different versions of linux, i am getting ready to start and learn it, whatwould be the best version to use??

Debian Sid. Any problems you experience are sure to be thoroughly documented all over the internet and bleeding edge is just a fancy way of saying it's great

Ubuntu would be better as a beginner, it's got the backbone of Debian with way more support.
Once you get linux, you should move on to Gentoo or Debian.

My two favorites are Debian and Ubuntu. I like Ubuntu because it seems more out-of-the-box friendly, but that's just been my experience. However if you're looking for something thats rock solid with no B$, then Debian is great too.  ;D
