SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) - May 30, 2008 -- It's a senior prank that took 33 years to pull off.
In 1975, a group of students at North High in Springfield, Ohio, unbolted the flagpole, stacked old tires around it and put it back.
But police caught four of the "North High Phantoms" and told them if everything was cleaned up by morning, no charges would be filed.
Well, this spring, the phantoms are at it again.
They donated $1,000 toward a new gym, in exchange for permission to carry out their prank.
So, with the OK of the principal, the phantoms got to stack the tries around the flagpole.
