I'm  . Back when the link to the record was originally posted, I signed up to be notified of his status via email and received this email from that system (VINE which stands for Victim Information and Notification ...something) today:

The Feds use something similar called VNS (Victim Notification System) and has a woman's named attached but the email addy is fedemail@vns.usdoj.gov

here is a copy & paste of one... (these are always days/weeks late and one is not sent every time there is an update... the system is pretty hit & miss)

Dear <person>:

The United States Department of Justice believes it is important to keep victims of federal crime informed of court proceedings.  This notice provides information about the above-referenced criminal case.
   
The sentencing hearing for defendant(s), RaVeNMaDDoX, has been set for November 14, 2008, 09:00 AM at Jackson, MS before Judge Tom S. Lee.  You are welcome to attend this proceeding; however, unless you have received a subpoena, your attendance is not required by the Court.  If you plan on attending, please check with the VNS Call Center to verify the sentencing date and time. So how do you get one of these without actually being a victim?

Well my boss received the actual victim letter asking him to contact the feds if he felt he had been victimized etc etc. Actually everyone at work received one (40+ employees) and most if not all of them came up to me with the letter and said 'Hey Raven do you need this?' So I registered as one of them and now get the updates to my email.

One idiot who used to work here thought he could make an easy buck and said it was my fault he had bad credit and I had stopped him from getting a car and he wanted $100,000 for his pain and suffering. The investigators laughed and said the fool didn't know that he could actually be charged with 'interfering with an investigation' or some similar and could wind up doing time for lying to a federal officer!

My life is a fucking riot... someone make a movie... I want Johnny Depp to play me...

I remember calling his parents while he was still in the midst of his prison term and getting them all pissed off at me for asking for him.
