I honestly tried to use twitter, but I just don't get it. I don't care what my friends do all the time to be honest. The only use it would be good for is getting to know people you've met online or something a bit more personally, but I don't want random people online knowing my daily details.
"Just took a big poop"
"Eating a Big Mac"
"Jacking off to gay dolphin porn"
"My dad caught me jacking off to gay dolphin porn again"
I have an account and subscribe to worthwhile news sources like the mars lander and political figures, but I don't care to delve into the personal side of things. For some people, politicians, site admins, or some other person that actually has an audience it is a neat tool, but for the average person, it is just a fabricated sense of celebrity and egotism that is really quite stupid. I don't care that my neighbor Billy found a neat new shirt at wal-mart.
I've had my account for a couple months and have gotten several requests from complete strangers to follow me. Why? If you add random people that you haven't the slightest clue who they are, doesn't it kind of alienate the whole thing? Who gives a fuck what I do? I don't give a fuck what you do.
It's a big community of nothing.
