So I was looking though my favorited videos on YouTube when I saw the Richard Cardo videos. As you know, the videos are marked private therefore the video page reads "This video is private." But in the favorite list, I can see the changed description of the video which reads

"Because of recent actions, their [sic] is a renewed interest in the group in this case and my videos must now be held private. Some people just don't learn."

All I see is "This video is private."  Do you get to see more because you're his friend because he's in love with you?

Do you think he changed the description just last week when he logged in?

And who can even see his videos?  You'd think it would just be his friends, which is you and I'm pretty sure 2 other PLA people.  But you can't?  So who's he talking to?

I've got videos 1 - 17 and the epilogue.  I was going to download the rest, but then me and Patty and kcochran started having the videos taken down before I could.  I've love to put them back up just so I could show his employer what he's been doing on company time.

I said that, silly. When I click to watch the video. I see teh the thumbnail and description in my favorites list.

Your guess is as good as mine. I was just checking my favorites for baleeted videos for copyright infringement (~20/~600), I hadn't thought to look at the description before then.

I can't see them. I guess private isn't friends only but only viewable to him (but we know he doesn't watch them because if he did, he'd notice the writing and text in his videos are illegible.)

I did try using this YouTube downloading tool, but it didn't work. Other similar tools gave errors reading that the video could not be found. These crux of these tools is that probably depend on the "watch" link to parse the download url.

It can't be that hard. The download links have to be formatted in the same way with the video id as the variable. I haven't looked into it, though.

Just copy that and make it a bookmark in your firefox (cuz we all use that and not IE, right?) then click it on a youtube page.  It creates a direct link to the video.  It works for everything I've tried, but I havent tried to download a private video.  Its faster than trev's thing if you just wanna grab from in browser.

That is a very good point, and so I am probably dead wrong, but you didn't ask me, so... I don't know why you are disappointed to not find any meaning in my post.

If you set your videos to private, they can be viewable by you and up to 25 of your friends, but you have to chose which friends get to see it. Guessing Cardo hasn't chose anybody, but you might could sweet-talk him into letting you be one of the special few who can watch them.

i think the 17 that remain up have already been archived by arbie before they went private so it's not a priority to get access.
