How bad is traffic in DC?
Sucks. Don't drive there :p
It's also really hard to turn around if you went down the wrong road, from what some friends told me.
Shit. Thanks for the answer, but I really don't have a choice now.
I'm still a little worried, though, because I'm a newbie driver.
I checked street view on Google Maps and traffic doesn't look too bad; Theodore Roosevelt Bridge looks kinda rough, though.
Has anyone else ever driven in or to Washington D.C.?
You my friend, are about to get kicked in the nuts.
Borrow someones GPS for this, please.
I bought a brand-spankin-new GPS for just the occasion.
Ok, if could help me out for just a moment, please consider the situation from my perspective:
For this example, lets say that I've never driven in a large city before (which isn't too far from the truth).
When people say traffic is "bad", are they saying:
A) Cars are bumper-to-bumper and you'll be setting there for hours? <-This one doesn't bother me. I'm not going to try to rush there or stick to any kind of schedule.
B) Drivers are crazy idiots that cut other people off and go 90MPH for no reason whatsoever. <-This one scares the shit out of me.
C) Something else that I haven't thought of?
If anybody can answer, I would really appreciate it.
BTW: Rock Creek Parkway--the road that leads to the Marriott Wardman Hotel--doesn't look bad at all. So would it be better if I just took backroads the whole way there?
