I just got an email from someone about the Craigslist pranks:

Not sure which one of you guys did this, but naively hopeful I answered a craigslist posting about a free playstation.  Perhaps it was all "not a prank" things said, but after emailing for a number to call I was patched through to the police.  It's one thing to get off on tricking people (simply pathetic and childish), it's another to actually bother people doing important work (I'm not referring to me, but the 911 dispatcher).  You people are a blight on society.  Grow up.

I got to hear a bit of the Craigslist stuff last night, but didn't hear anything about 911.  I hope you guys aren't really giving Craigslist people police station numbers.  Lets stick to the usual pathetic and childish stuff that doesn't involve the cops.

Don't worry. They weren't actually giving police numbers. They were giving the bridge number, and when people called in, they answered it as if it were 911.

i wasn't in on the call...but impersonating emergency officers is probably going too far.  i don't think it's illegal [not completely sure, and i'm too tired right now to do the research], but there are plenty of people to hilariously impersonate without pretending to be 911 and freaking people out like that.

It is pretty funny, however if I do remember correctly impersonating any sort of public service person especially if they are related to the cops is against the law and well...they like beating up people who do that.
