I was thinking of going out for Black Friday, but I just haven't been in the mood to wake up in the early AM for shopping since I stopped working retail. If I find my 2-way I'll probably throw on some khakis and a blue polo and head over to OMX, since they have a new store manager and sales lead in my district and neither of them know me, or head over to the new Best Buy. If I do anything fun I'll vid, but I doubt I'll do anything because I'm kind of a douchenozzle.

I went to Target to pick up a microSD card (just a normal purchase, not a Black Friday shopping frenzy like everyone else there) and I had to wait in line at electronics.  The TVs were blaring behind me so I held my tv-b-gone over my shoulder until they shut up.  That's the extent of my crazy Black Friday experiences.

I'm 4"11 [meaning it's very hard to notice me], Walmart was PACKED, employees were exceptionally busy throwing microwaves at hungry customers, "the phone lines were all just opened up and sitting there", and I FORGOT MY RECORDING EQUIPMENT.

I still made pranks- had to keep switching phones because actual employees wanted to use them- well, mostly just this one fat guy named Doug. I just tried to convince him that I'm retarded and he left me alone. It wasn't that difficult. Because I am retarded.
The hammer's my penis.

ANYWAY.

I tried selling cactus soap to this elderly man over the phone who was asking for a Hannah Montannah CD to give to his grand daughter for Christmas. I told him he was stinky and that I could smell him through the phone.
I made a LOT more interesting calls than that but I'll share that later when I can remember how they went.

Otherwise, it was a decent Black Friday for me.
How about you PLA-ers?

For months I've been checking Goodwill, trying to find a vest or a shirt that could pass as one of those blue vest that Wal-Mart employees wear.  But I've had no luck at that.  I found a uniform company online that sells them for about $20, though.  I will find one by next year, though, so I can fulfill my dreams of being a Wal-Mart employee for a day.

Maybe I should just get a real job at Wal-Mart long enough to get a blue vest and quit.

That'd probably be more convincing an outfit than just buying a fake one - plus an ample amount of 'getting fired' possibilities if your intention is to quit immediatly after receiving the uniform.

My friend told me that the employees don't wear blue vests anymore. Just blue t-shirts. Both his parents work at Walmart. He's poor. Haha!

I've been meaning to get one of those. But wouldn't turn the TVs back on if you held it up too long?

I've been meaning to get one of those. But wouldn't turn the TVs back on if you held it up too long?

You press the button once and it takes about 60 seconds to cycle through all the on/off codes one time.  It's possible they could turn back on if they responded to more than one code.  But I put it away as soon as the noise stopped.

About Wal-Mart and Best Buy uniforms - I wouldn't want an actual Wal-Mart or Best Buy vest/shirt.  Because then they could say I'm being an impostor and throw me out of the store.  But if I just happen to be wearing the same color of shirt or vest as them and I just happen to have a lot of buttons all over the front of my blue vest, they can't really say anything about that.

I've gone into Wal-Mart in the past, wearing various work uniforms and customers would stop me and ask me questions, even though my uniform was the wrong color and my name tag was for a completely different company.  So I'm sure it'll work, especially during the chaos of Black Friday.  I've still got lots of my old name tags, so I'm just going to put one of those on even though I have a real Wal-Mart badge with my name on it.

Also, I read that Black Friday isn't the biggest shopping day of the year.  According to some blog, it's actually the Saturday before Christmas day.  So maybe I'll have time to try it out then.

Kind of like this?

Any plans for this year?

I'm free that day, so I'll probably drive to a Wal-Mart just to enjoy the craziness there.  I'm sure I'll end up picking up phones while I'm there.  I doubt I'll be ambitious enough to make it there before 9am, but there's still plenty happening at that hour.  I still never got around to buying a blue vest.  Maybe I'll try opening some fire doors.
