Someone on the phone bridge posted an ad for a free George Foreman grill on craigslist in dallas. After some rather abusive calls from some irate female callers, they flagged and even responded to the ad.  Here is the original posting and the responses.

Original Posting:

I got a Deluxe George Foerman Grill for Xmas. I already have one, but, didn't want to offend my family that I didn't need this. SO, being from a jewish family, I'm obligated to take it and give it away for free. Just don't let my mother know! Oh, she'll be so sad to hear this.

First come, first served. I'll also throw in a cactus that I don't need.

Just to warn anyone out there, this guy, ROY just cussed me and called me a hoe all because I am not single. He decided to post this ad all for finding a girl and cussing the ones who aren't intersted in screwing him!! So here's to your little plan Roy!! Have fun and I really hope someone calls you and decides to really give you a piece of their mind. If I were you I would really be careful you never know who you are going to meet!!!

I've had alot of fun and made profit on craigslist.. They say that humans only use 10% of their brains... people who answer "too good to be true" adds must use 5%.

Child Protective Services hardly counts as a government agency. They're almost all administrative, along with a few overworked social workers per district. All Family Court issues get handled by the DAs office anyway. If it doesn't actually involve beating kids, they really don't have time to try to get involved.

There were 2 more posts after midnight. Someone had dropped the dime on us. Something to the fact that we post all over the country and get really cruel with people.

This entire cr4igslist thing has taken on a life of its own, I'm not aware of anyone on the bridge making such posts. We are the victims of some serious pranksters playing two ends against the middle.

That being said: Last night there were - at one point - 25 people packed onto the bridge because of cr4igslist! At least a half dozen of the CL dildos were attempting to pass themselves off as LE...trying to phear. Hell, one douche was playing police siren .wavs and the theme from COPS! yeah it was ghey

I'm pretty sure craigslist is getting pretty burned out by now. I bet in the next couple of weeks, most sites will put out a warning about people posting "too good to be true" ads for the purposes of prank calling.

Yes the cr4igslist dildos DO impersonate law enforcement quite frequently, the audio I posted in the other bridge thread ("the bridge is as gay as I remember") clearly shows that.


As for the overall implication...

If there aren't people's names posted in association with these instances then I can't see how you can connect them to the bridge community. Sorta like "pics or it didn't happen". For all anyone knows these acts could have been committed by someone floating onto the bridge, someone being 3-wayd in, someone receiving a prank call, or someone who doesn't LIKE the bridge very much! Hell, it may have NOT have even happened at all. (yea, I know)

However, here's something related to this topic that DID happen a few days ago during a call (I'm guessing the target call was disconnected when it began)

Now you see, this is something that has substance to it. This person is NOT a regular on the bridge (as far as I know), never heard him/her before. You can hear that he was not called, was not 3-wayd in and he does seem to know something about wi-fi and Skype (hmm). So what could it be? My guess is it's someone who don't like the bridge very much.

Anyone care to shed some light on who this person might be, via PM would be fine. heh

So, what would be the motivation for regular bridge users to do such things and attract THAT sort of negative attention? What's the benefit to us? The simple answer is NO benefit what-so-ever. That being said, please focus elsewhere and look beyond the surface for motivation for this bridge related bullshit.

As far as bridge vs forums. Well, we're all part of the same oddball family, as shitty as that might be. L O L (filter bypass win)

I agree with directing CL ads to another bridge, then 3way that into the main. Easy to dispose of.

However, I don't view teleconferencing on the whole as a private clique experience, I like when strange people drop in after finding the PLA bridge though various sources (even the google searches on the 70) Familiarity does breed contempt given time, for me at least, I enjoy the revolving-door that is the PLA bridge.

A Skype conference is much better for isolated confs, the invite list of those who are "acceptable" to invite is much easier to maintain. No constantly switching of rooms and passing around the new number when you want to now avoid someone. Hell it could even evolve into a fun political game of who is "in or out" that week. Just like other "communities".

It is a great idea to direct CL elsewhere, its been talked about. Though this very open-nature of the bridge prevents this at times. Patience is needed when you're a PLA bridge regular, that's a given. The good-times ARE there, else we wouldn't be wasting our time.
