The Georgia (Syrup Pirates) one is pretty awesome, even if it has nothing to do with the PLA. But yeah, online franchising is dead, even if it never really was alive.

You know, I really should find a place to host PLA-MN again. I lost the only semi-anonymous spot I could put it several years back, and then kinda forgot about it.

The entire contents of the site (among other things) are all sitting on an old 18 gig SCSI drive, in one of the drive bays of an even older DL380, in my basement, rusting and collecting dust bunnies (but not necessarily in that order).

I've been hesitant to just make a vhost for it on my main box, since I also host some "real" customers on it. It would suck if that box started getting DoS'd by some anti-PLA groupies... or whatever.

Maybe I could just donate the few worthwhile philez from the site to Arbie, and be done with it.

Thoughts?

PLA 714 used to forward to telecom-munists.org before whatever crappy free host that it was on shut down. We did maintain some 714 payphone numbers in the days before the TC stuff but that was about it. We never did meet anyone else through it, despite a few people living in the same area.

You're welcome to set one up, but since I don't promote the state sites anymore and it appears that they're all dead, people might have a hard time finding you amongst all the dead links.  I can always put a link to your site in the sidebar of the forums though, down there with the others.

haha that Iowa site was one I ran about 10 years ago :).  Pretty cool to still see the link to it, although the ISP I used went bankrupt so they finally took the user pages down about 2 years ago.

I still have a copy of the page saved on my hard drive, unfortunately robots.txt blocks waybackmachine.com from showing the archives of the site :(.

IVE listen to the pla podcasts a while and it seems the pla is dieing.Yes i said it, what do you think?
