United Phone Losers have Re-Launched

After a two-year hiatus, the formerly defunct United Phone Losers have re-launched their website, which can be found at http://www.phonelosers.net. Those of you who have been around for a while might remember the UPL from 1998-2004 when they were releasing their own PLA spin-off ezine and hosting a very active message board. If you think back hard enough, you might remember the old UPL/PLA Email Discussion list! Or even the UPL/PLA Telephone Director0y. The site is back with much of its old content restored, a new message board, and new plans in the works.


Phonelosers.net went down in 2004 when it was sniped by cybersqautters. You might remember this story from the "unauthorized" 29th issue of UPL (released in 2005 by RBCP after the UPL disbanded). The group went through great lengths to get the domain name back, and had to spend a pretty penny, which all came out of the group's pocket. If you are an old fan of UPL (or become a new fan, or would like to support new projects of the group), please consider donating a few buck to help cover costs. Thanks!

Hey everyone, i also wanted to let you know that there are UPL Forums over on the site, at http://www.phonelosers.net/bbs - so please check it out and login. There's no one really on it yet, it's pretty embarrassing, so please come on over and post some to feed my ego a bit.

Also, I also just found some of RTF's old prank calls, so those are up to. If you know what happened to any of our other old prank calls, send them over to us!

Did I even have the FruitWare forums set up at the same time as you?  I can't remember.  I think the PLA/UPL Topica email list was really big back in 2001 wasn't it?

You probably didn't. The UPL/PLA list was the place to be (when you weren't on the UPL forums). I got some emails from the yahoogroup Phonelosers group the oher day. I forgot I was signed up for it. it was pretty terrible. I tried sending the UPL update from the main page to the list but I don't think it went through.
