Blind date
« on: March 23, 2009, 10:44:59 AM »
So I'm talking to this person I met on craigslist with false information. I want to set-up a blind date at  a restaurant or coffee shop or something. I'm thinking about making a cardboard cut-out of the picture I've given them and setting it up as if it were sitting at a table and have a laptop with a speech synthesizer next to it. I'd have to sit far enough away to not be noticed but close enough so I can hear what they say so I can type responses. I'm planing on doing this by April 1st. Any suggestions? Should I add anything? Should I change anything?

yours, sigflup

Have a female friend of yours go over during their conversation and pretend to be the cardboard cutout's ex-girlfriend and have her go on a jealous rant.

Your idea sound hilarious.  Are you going to talk to the restaurant people first to make sure they don't throw out the cardboard cutout?

Ha! That would be pretty funny. That's a good idea- I like that.

I think I would have to talk to the people who own the place. There's this one coffee shop that I go to pretty often and I don't think it would be a problem.

Another idea is to have your laptop setup so that you're talking to her on a webcam. Then act normally as if this was a natural thing for you to do.

But on the webcam wear a cutout of the fake guy's face.

Thanks for the input, I think I'm just going to stick to the cut-out. I think it would be difficult for her to recognize right away otherwise

If you do this prank, set up a camera to record everything and post it.

+1 for this unique prank.

It's funny. I haven't set-up the date yet. I thought things would be easier in the straight sections but I guess not so much. Seems she isn't returning my emails anymore. I've been giving this prank some thought and I actually think it's kinda mean. I know I'm a complete lamer, right? I wouldn't like it if someone smokin' hot set up a date with me and it turned out that they were not real in a really fucked up way, that would kind-of hurt me. So, sorry folks. Sorry to disappoint :(
