New PLA Radio number
« on: August 19, 2006, 04:46:30 PM »
You might notice on just about every episode of PLA Radio, the voicemails sound like garbage.  There's an annoying hissing sound on them all and the overall voice quality is just horrible.  It's because I use a crappy free service called k7.net.  They have no option to upgrade the sound quality.  There's only a switch between low quality and high quality.  And my horrible sounding PLA Radio voicemails are the result of high quality with K7.  I do my best to eliminate the noise but there's only so much I can do.

Does anyone know of a good net-based voicemail provider that I could use?  Free would be nice but I might be willing to drop a few bucks on it.  Definitely no more than $5.00 per month.  And I doubt I even want to spend that much.

I'm going to set up mychingo.com on the site which will at least give some people the option of leaving messages with their PC microphones.  Maybe I'll get a Skype-in number and see how that sounds.  I bet those aren't too expensive.

You can get a tol-free number from evoice http://home.evoice.com/s/r/cj-evoice?VID=36258&TYPE=303316&PID=1682445

my friend uses it.  Quailty is great and you get a free month trial.  Then just sign up for another one month trial.  It's 4.95 a month after that.

I just signed up for Skype-in.  $12 for 3 months.  If I buy a year it ends up being just $3.00 per month.  I can handle that and the voicemail quality seems to be great so far.  So the new PLA Radio voicemail number is (505) 796-4020.  I updated the contact page with a few other options too:

Holy crap...I just called this old lady to try and get her to help me with my voicemail message.  She refused but it's the greatest prank call ever!  I put it on the new voicemail number.  Everyone call 505-796-4020 immediately!
