Automated cactus flooding of VMB

I just pulled this one on RBCP because he wouldn't let me on the phone show.

Here is the setup:
computer with a WAV file looping that has cactus on it and DTMF perfectly timed to dial and hang up on calls over google voice
computer connected to phone line via capacitive coupler
470ohm resistor shorting phone line to keep line off hook with no phones picked up

All I had to do was dial up my google voice number, enter my pin, and then start the WAV looping.

Its really great phun, you can get about a message a minute this way. 

Probably the best practical joke you can pull with a VMB without compromising it.

According to those images, your automated system did this from 12:48pm to 3:45pm and only generated around 40 calls to the VMB.  So it was more like a message every 4.5 minutes.  And it's not like there's a limit on Skype messages and you're going to fill it up.  In conclusion, your revenge tactic is only slightly less sucky than tr0n's revenge tactic of sending me a Bible in the mail.  Revenge should cost the victim more time and/or displeasure than the person doing the revenge.

I am literally rolling around on the floor all crazy-like as I laugh.

Damn, I was going on that old time with phone show when someone posted the callin on craigslist and you got tons of messages and said it would take forever to delete them.

The reason it took so long is because it crashed several times and I was off doing other stuff, including using the phone. Once I finally got it going I think it left a message every minute.

And hey, I proved that google voice doesn't have any wardialing/demon dialing protection, which is neat.

Also, I got compared to tron. That is about the best you can hear when trolling! And I finally found out what the CID is when I call in on skype, wtf is up with that? the number I'm using is in NPA 202.

Edit: I bet I could crash someone's skype if I leave it running all night. 500+ voicemails sure must strain it at least.

You did a great job with all the rationalizations.  But, when you're explaining that it took so long because it kept crashing, you're really only validating rbcp's point that revenge is supposed to be more of a hassle for the victim.  Just acknowledge that this was a revenge fail and recognize that you aren't permanently banned from The Phone Show, yet.  Only I have the power to do anything of that sort, and since I wasn't on this week's show, the proverbial mice play was out of hand. 

I do want to mention that The Phone Show does not solely exist as a medium for you to sell Skunkworks propaganda.  Make a mental note of this!

Actually, in all seriousness, I just wish you guys would just discuss phreaking. PLA needs to return to its roots as a phreaking group instead of a ZOMG POST ON FORUMS AND CALL IDIOTS ON TWITTER group. The PBX411 guys are really right, It's too Web 2.0.
