PLA the Safe Way

How Do I tell my parents what the "PLA" is without making it seem like every one are freaky old guys who harass old women 24/7 and make prank phone calls to 911 services?

they have discovered my envolvment (through prank calls with county kid, getting me "banned" from visiting the site, and discovering my obsession with PLA merchandise "including 250 PLA buisness cards, various buttons ect...)

Unless I provide a sound explination of "what this is all about" Im pretty much screwed
and not trying to sound like a total newb, Is there any way to put this into words?

Back when I was 15, jefe and Apok0lyps decided to visit me in NYC. My dad knew I was all into this whole "PLA" (I think I had bought the cassette by then) thing and two guys from the PLA were coming by, so at a family gathering he asked me what it was all about.  I told him that phreaking was hacking with phones, and this group the "Phone Losers of America" basically makes prank calls that I found funny.  I also impressed my family by telling them that prank calling someone was called "cactusing."  I was totally serious too, I thought it was part of phreaker lingo.  Family took it well.  I was 15 and they expected me to be into weird stuff.  They just laughed it off as "crazy kids" kind of a thing. 

After I took part in a few illegal confs, the phone company started calling my house asking about them.  I just pleaded innocent, had no idea what it was about.

I'm also a girl, so I played innocent really well   Not sure if that helps, but that's my story!

Yeah you got it lucky. My parents know everything about what I do. And my track record goes way back to High School getting suspended and arressted, so the whole innocent stuff doesn't work. Damn you Jammie.

Raptor, can't you tell your parents that the PLA is a bunch of comedians and they occasionally make funny prank phone calls?  Like wacky morning DJs?  In fact, say we're DJs and we've got some kind of morning radio program broadcast from Cincinnati called PLA Radio.  You heard about PLA when it was featured on E!
