Apparently there's a "CPass" now that I don't have so I can't restart the server :(

Hey Nod,

When I join the server it takes forever for the land to download, if at all, and so I usually fall into the abyss. I restarted the server but it happens again. Is there a plugin using too much ram or the world too big? This was in the server log:

2011-08-15 10:31:07 [INFO] Starting minecraft server version Beta 1.7.3
2011-08-15 10:31:07 [WARNING] **** NOT ENOUGH RAM!
2011-08-15 10:31:07 [WARNING] To start the server with more ram, launch it as "java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar"

So I have vague information on this. Some friends of mine who have this game have a mod for it that makes the textures look more sexy or something. Extra details, more refined, but still staying with the look and feel of traditional MineCraft. Now as far as I know it's a mod, or it could very well be directly related to the recent updates I only vaguely remember hearing about.

Either way, the work around for that was going into Java and telling it that it was allowed to allocate more RAM beyond the default setting of something like 256mb. Again, not entirely sure. In fact all of my information could possibly be related to nothing at all!

I deleted my dat file and restarted. It seems to work now so I'm not sure what the problem was. I also disabled a couple plugins earlier before that but it still gave the RAM warning.

edit: Nevermind, it's still all fucked up and not loading.

AppPhreak called it. Turn your texture pack off and it works fine with the default minecraft textures.
Disregard that. It happened again even with the default texture pack.

Still getting the SocketTimeoutExceptions pretty often though. We may need to restart our world. I've downloaded our entire world (Surprisingly only 134mb) so if we try that and it doesn't work I can just import the world we had and everything'll be exactly as it was. What do you guys think? Personally I wouldn't mind starting with a completely blank world.

Oh, almost forgot to mention. If we did want to start over I believe we could start over with any world we wanted as I'm pretty sure I could start a world in single player with any seed we wanted. Check out http://minecraft-seeds.net/ and http://www.minecraftseeds.info/

Looking at the number of profiles I'm wondering if there's too many users for the plan rbcp bought. Maybe it's time to upgrade? I'd through in a couple bucks.

Since Nod said he backed it up, I went ahead and reset the world. I haven't had any problems playing it so far, although I could figure out how to set the seed.

I will look into upgrading very soon since you guys are enjoying this.  I just went with a cheap plan to see if anyone was even interested in it.

By the way, I saw something this week saying that Minecraft was available on Android now.  Has anyone tried it?  And does it actually let you connect to servers like ours?

Hopefully they'll come out with it for the iPhone.

I disabled the worldedit or whatever plugin since the gameplay was rather laggy at times. I'm not sure if that was the cause but it seems somewhat better now.

Sucks we can't run any mods. There's a number of good ones.

What do you guys think about going back to survival mode? I'm starting to really miss SURPRISECREEPERDEATH

Due to excessive griefing, I've had to reset the world and turned on the whitelist. PM me your minecraft user name and I'll add it to the whitelist.
